Hey Guys

less than 10 hours to go! the big day is nearly here. Hope everybody is under control with classes.

For tomorrow please arrive in good time to get entries staged by 9 :30. Make sure you bring a pen with you to fill in entry cards. Do not forget membership cards, they are the most vital thing of the day. You will need them to buy tickets for the party.

Remember what was said at last nights meeting, if not see blog post previous to this one.

For the bus tomorrow night be on time to the pickup area so that we dont have to stop he party for us to all arrive.

Make sure you bring spare clothes.

Help each other out in the Blunham spirit and enjoy the best day and night of the calender.

All the best Henry

Here is the fruit punch that I have made.

Thursday 16 May 2013

Hey guys

Last nights meeting went well, all that were there have got our new hoddies and they looks great. If you were  not at the meeting last night you need to arrange with Debbie where you are going to pick it up from. Also lat night we went through a few other things these include.

Filling in entry cards right

For cooking classes writing down the ingredients that you have used

Being on time to events to avoid being disqualified

Not hanging around near the float, before the fight - we dont want it ruined before it gets judged

Bring spare clothes as you may get wet in the main ring

Remember your costume for the float.

The drop of zone is busy so be prepared with entry's in a box ready to jump out and go.

On the float be happy and get into character, there are lots of points available for this and it would be a shame if we lost points in this section because the float has had a lot of time and effort put into it.

All the best

Horsey Girls

Hey Guys

Most of the things I have to mention today are to do with the rally.

First up its the horsey section, something I don't know much about, I will pass on the information that I know.

Dressage timings

Annie 9 : 30 on Bertie

Georgie 11:40 on Shaunlara Willow

Megan 12:10 on Maisie

If you want the full list of who's competing then I can email it to you.

Jumping Classes:

65: 14.2 & under 9 to 9.30
66: Over 14.2 9.40 to 11
67: Chase-me-Charlie 14.2 & under 11.10 to 11.30
68: Chase-me-Charlie over 14.2 11.30

Dont understand any of what that means but hopefully you horsey girls do!

The email I received with regards to the horses stressed that it is a very tight schedule and that you must be in the right place at the right time.

I will end on a highly positive note - Blunahm now has 58 members on its books, this is fantastic.

And for the first time since 1992 the county has over 400 members this is great as well.

Thats all for tonight.

4 sleeps to go

Hey guys

Only 4 more sleeps to go. Tonight I have been sieving some of my Grain samples ready for the rally day, which is fast approaching. I know that not everyone is doing Grain classes but Saturday will soon come round. remember that travelling from the Rally site takes a good 45 mins from Blunham, so it will be an early start for most of us. All entry's must be staged on time to avoid losing points, To find out the time your entry's must be staged for check out the link below. https://www.dropbox.com/s/0juilo4ib1ylu5t/Final%20Rally%20Schedule%202013.doc

If you have signed up for a class please make sure that you enter it, we lose loads of points if we don't show something that we have entered, and we get some points just for entering and then loads for winning.

Tonight I have received some rally information.

I will mention here the things that will effect most of us.

1. Parking, We will all have lots of entry's to stage, there is a drop of zone but your car can only be sat there for 10 mins otherwise we will get a bad name for our club. We can all help each other out and help get all of our entry's staged. Long stay car park is available after drop off.

2. Spare clothes - It is advised that you bring a spare pair of clothes with you, The main ring events involve water and in the flour and water fight it is bound to get mucky and wet.

3. Be on time to events, if you are late the event will just start without you, we will lose points and it will be a disaster. If you have lots to do then just pop in and let the steward know that you are doing lots of other classes at the same time. Also there emails are available on the link above.
.
That is all for tonight. make sure you can come on Thursday it will be very important meeting.

All the Best Henry

Monday 13 May 2013

Hey guys

Today I have been on a school trip to Harry Potter studio's near London. I thought I would mention this because of the float. It was a great day out and the exhibits were the real ones used in the films. Over 4000 people have been involved in making the films, it was really good and I would recommend it to everyone.

This is the real size of Hogwarts, it was not much bigger in Height than Ollie, The tour showed you how technology has developed.

Back to YFC, as you all know it is a very busy week.

There is tug of war training on Wednesday night and this is probably your last practice

But the most important meeting of the week is Thursday at 7pm prompt at the Cricket club. If you cannot attend you need to let us know now because there is very important information and therefore it is vital that all are there. Please try and make it on time, it is only a short meeting and if people are 10 mins late it holds everyone up. It will only be a short meeting if we are all on time.

All the Best

Sunday 12 May 2013

Hey guys

Sorry for no blog yesterday, I was away on D of E in Rutland and we had phones taken away from us - don't know how I survived. The Weather was awful but we still did the 25km.

In a whole weeks time the Rally weekend will all be over, so this week is going to be very busy.

With regards to meetings this week the following meetings are happening.

Possible tug of war training on Wednesday - please see Facebook but the days might change this week. Keep aware of that.

On Thursday night the meeting is at the Cricket club from 7 - 8, It will be a short but important meeting. We will collect hoddies etc and go over important things for the day, please all try to attend and be prompt.

Things also need to be payed for, hoddies and rugby tops, please bring the money with you.

Thats all for tonight.

Henry

Friday 10 May 2013

Hi guys

Unfortunately I am away on D of E this weekend so I will next blog on Sunday or Monday.

But on a more positive side things for the rally are coming on well.

Tomorrow there is cattle training at 10:30 and then you can go onto help put final touches to the float.

Sunday there is tug of war training at 3.

Please try and make it if you are involved in the relevant activity's.

You will all probably need a rally book priced at £5 - this is how members get into the rally, it is more expensive on the day so buy them now from the club.

Anymore seats for the coach - it is nearly full.

Hope costumes for the float are coming on well.

also can anyone help out with Elissa McNamara's lift to the rally.

Sorry that the blog today is a bit of this bit of that but hope you all have a good weekend.

All the best Henry

Thursday 9 May 2013

Heys it Thursday

Today I start with a story to learn from, wearing the wright clothes, today at school someone came in in their army unifrom - not school what a loser so for the rally where your Blunham YFC rugby tops and new hoddies with any trousers if you want to wear trousers. Otherwise you will stick out like a soar thumb.

Also please let Debbie know how and when you are going to pay for stuff, She shouldn't have to chase up so please just let her know.

sadly I wasn't at the meeting tonight, exams :( and family birthday:) so sorry but will hopefully be at cricket club next week for the short 1 hour pre rally meeting, see you all there.

All the best

Henry

Wednesday 8 May 2013

There is a party for Herts YFC on 11 may but dont worry about that worry about Beds party on 18th May and get booking the bus and make the night a night to remember.

All the best

Henry

Tuesday 7 May 2013

Hey Hope everyone is getting back into the week.

Lets get down to money once again. The hoddies still need to be payed for. As we all use the cricket club for some meetings we are members of Blunham playing filed and we need to renew the membership. https://sites.google.com/site/blunhampfa/ this is £5 and can be payed to Sandra, there are family memberships available as well as single.

There was tug of war training today and I hope it was a success. While on the subject of the Rally get on with your classes and book seats for the bus.

I usually don't mention the news in my blog but today I think I have to due to this amazing story. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-22438417

You may know that the National AGM took place last Weekend, check out some of the photos http://www.bedsyfc.org/ it looks great and in a few years time some of us will be off on it.

Thats all for tonight

Henry

Monday 6 May 2013

Hey its Monday but its a kind of Sunday

Today I have added 2 things to my done list. For the first time that I can remember I have been to the Ickwell May day which was certainly something different. Also I had a chase with a hot air Balloon which I thought I was going to see land. Sadly it didn't.

I hope everybody has been enjoying there 3 day weekend and the great weather that has come with it. Tomorrow there is tug of war training at Kempston. Please let Sally or Tom know if you cant attend as the big day is fast approaching.

Again as I keep mentioning there are plenty of seats available for the bus so please try and get mates on it to fill it up.

Have a good Tuesday

all the best

Henry

Sunday 5 May 2013

Hey it's Sunday, but we can treat it as a Saturday.

Today once again the weather has been great and it has opened my Barbecue season. Lets hope we have the same weather for the rally.

This week Beds YFC has made it up to 399 members. This is terrific and Beds YFC is very strong. other counties such as Cambridgeshire are struggling at the moment but Beds and Blunham are going very well.

Sadly this week we had a bit of clowning around with flour, I don't want to moan about the incident but YFC   is meant to be competitive but not a total war. In a few years time us the members will start to have to sort things out for our self's and if we cant be responsible we will put the club back to where it was 5 years ago - no members. The club is really strong and Debbie is the back and bones for this club and she deserves more than having to sort out after silly behavior. Young Farmers is not a kids club were you get entertained, you have to put lots in to get lots out and have to be responsible if you cant do this then maybe Young Farmers is not the place for you, But to the person that has owned up at least you can learn from your mistakes.

Lets just smash the rally and the Rally party

all the best

Henry.

Saturday 4 May 2013

Hey its Saturday, just

Hope everyone is making the most of there 3 day weekend. Today more work has continued on the float, if you haven't seen it yet it looks great and it will son be ready for the big day. Thank you to all that have helped in some way or another and special thanks to Ross, Aidian and Sean that have spent many hours working on the float.

I hope that costumes are being sorted out because the float is worth many points and the better it looks the more points. If you really don't want to get soaked you can dress up on the float and then get off it before the fight starts.

Thats all

Henry

Friday 3 May 2013

Hey its fab Friday

And what a fab Friday it is, not only the sun but no a long Weekend and over 60 hours school free to enjoy. This could be a good opportunity for practicing flower arranging and cookery classes. It is also a chance for classes to be built as well.

I also know that for some of you study leave is coming up. we all wish you the best of luck with your exams, and hope you get the grades to get in to your college/ uni that you want.

On a more positive thought than exams, there are still seats available for the bus so please book seats up the more the merrier and lower the cost, it will be one crazy night.

For out Tug of war team there is no training on Sunday due to the bank Holiday but there is Training on Tuesday.

Back on the subject of the rally we need a Voldemort for the Harry Potter float, please get involved with the float, it will be a laugh. and this year it may be filmed so you have those lifetime memories. A go pro camera may be mounted on the side of the float so we can look back at the event. Hopefully the camera will survive.

Thats all

Have a good Weekend Henry

Thursday 2 May 2013

Hey its Thrilling Thursday

Today has been our meeting night and for those that were not there it has been a busy night. We have all been split up and doing different things for the rally, some have been doing tug of war training, some have been float painting, some have been bagging up flour and last of all sorting out some of the cows ready to be shown on the fast approaching rally day.

Since we were all in different locations it may have been a struggle to get money to the right places so please bring money along to next weeks meeting at the cricket club which is a talk about guide dogs and I am sure it will be fascinating.

Please now be aware that the bus has risen to a cost of £10 because not enough seats have been filled, so if you want seats there are plenty spare and please bring friends along to make sure we fill the bus up and smash the night.

I also believe that our Blunham playing fields membership card has run out. This is the card that allows us to use the cricket club for some of our meetings. Sandra has posted the details on Facebook - ( you may have to scroll down a bit).

From what Facebook is telling me we have 1 birthday in the club today and that is Olivia Randall who is apparently 19 years of age today. happy birthday to her. Thats all for tonight.

Henry

Wednesday 1 May 2013

Heys its wonderful Wednesday

Today I will start with again with the party bus. You need to pay £5 and then if you need to pay more we can pay it later! On the topic of the bus we need more people on it to keep the cost down. There are still about 15 seats left and if we fill them all it will be terrific. You can also bring your friends  on the bus and I think there are still lots of you out there who need to come on the bus. Really we are going on a coach so if this reason http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1V_qz9I1Nk is holding you back it is fine because its a coach not a bus.

The hoddies have been ordered and £5 needs to be payed for them. I believe that rugby tops have been ordered as well and I think that they are £25. If you are coming to Thursdays meeting which is at Ravensden please bring this money in the exact amount so that we Debbie dosent have to become a change machine. So please bring correct amounts.

The dress code for the fashion conscious tomorrow night is rough clothes because we will be painting and bagging up flour. If you suffer from hay fever please take your tablets because last year my eyes certainly swelled up with the dry flour. If you have lots on tomorrow with school and rally classes don't feel that you must come because it is only a short meeting and we would rather have quality classes.

Finally if anyone has a horse costume please let us know on facebook ASAP.

All the best Henry

Tuesday 30 April 2013

Hey guys its terrific Tuesday

For the first part of my blog it is basically yesterdays blog but in the form of a video because words would not justify the party bus itself so please watch this.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hpMUutjeCo4

After you have watched that and booked your place I have a few other things to mention.
For those that are new to the club the format of the rally is as follows.

In the morning till around 10 o clock you can out your pre made classes out on display.

then between 10 o clock and around 2 o clock it is skills, livestock and equine

after that it is the MAIN ring events this is where you can all get involved in the events, and we can all certainly go on the float if you are in the harry potter dress code.

So on the subject of the main ring we need somebody to have a horse costume for class 190.

Still sticking with the subject of the rally we need to get all membership sorted out  - please see the facebook post. basically no membership = no rally.
For the float we still need voldemort and Mr Weasley so get picking !

You can now folow this blog with the links at the bottom of this page!

Thanks Henry

Monday 29 April 2013

Hey its Monday

Hope everyone has had a good day in the sunshine, and fun at school! Tonight my first point is the 49 seater coach with driver, or I think we will just call it the party bus! Its not the best day  of the young farmers calender but its the best evening of the young farmers calender, Yes the party after the rally. This year it is held a long way away so why not use the party bus. The more the merrier. The party itself will be a great laugh and if you are thinking is it worth the journey it certainly is, any party is a party not worth missing. If exams or school work is concerning you put them to ones side and just let your hair down, if exams keep pushing you away from the party then you are missing out, 1 night of revision wont hurt. So book your places now for the amazing party bus. Thanks to Tracey Sadd for organizing it.

Lets have it packed like this!

Young farmers is a great organization to be part of and below is a link to a video about the AGM a few years time and this could be us!.

On the theme of the wider young farmers rather than just Blunham, did you know that there is 644 clubs nationwide. Remember make the most of young farmers, Thats all.

All the best Henry

Sunday 28 April 2013

The end to the weekend

Hi everyone

The weekend is drawing to a close yet again. This weekend at Blunham we have all been sorting out our outfits for the float on the theme of Harry Potter. If you are yet to chose a character please do, the rally is all about getting involved and one word applies to the rally. YOLO - you only live once, so make the most of it, it only happens only once a year.

On the same subject of the rally it would be good to start organizing bits for the day, that could be flowers, ingredients costumes and other materials that you need for your classes. Its only a few weeks away and it will soon be here. I remember last year were I was working on a play farm class until  well over 11 o' clock the night before the rally - poor organisation. So the message here is start getting organised.

It is now the final point to order hoddies and rugby tops for the day, These can be personalized and will make our club look fantastic on the day. The hoddies are new on the clothing list this year thanks to Georgie Sutton's parents for sponsoring us. If you want one you must order them now.

Finally behind the scenes now our tug of war team have been practicing away ready for more competitions later on in the year, the members of this team are showing clear dedication and have great enthusiasm to young farmers. I would like to thank them all for their great work and wish them luck in their training and hope for no injuries, if we put in the same effort that our tog of war team does the rally will be a fantastic success.

Hope you all have a great Monday and don't suffer from the Monday Morning blues!

All the Best Henry
